Bretforton Open Gardens will take place on Sunday 3rd June 2018, 11.00 am - 5.00 pm.
Enjoy a variety of garden styles and immerse yourself in history and tradition. Gardens taking part range from attractive cottage gardens with rose pathways and herbaceous borders, little hidden gems, gardens extending to informal areas with various structures, newly constructed gardens, a nearby nursery and the grounds of Bretforton Manor. The Manor dates back to 1605 and has 5 acres of mixed formal and informal areas with all year-round interest and colour with lots of unusual plants. Within the grounds are also listed buildings and structures including a dovecote, a cider press barn and a traditional walled garden.
As you wander around the village you can take part in a village quiz and admire the entries in a Scarecrow competition. The event will also include a performance by the Bretforton Choir.
Refreshments, sandwiches and homemade cakes and scones will be available in the grounds of The Manor as well as a plant stall and Tombola.
In the evening take part in the St Leonards Church Asparagus Auction held in the grounds of the 15th century Fleece Inn.
A share of the proceeds will go to The Shakespeare Hospice, Stratford upon Avon and DEPAUL NIGHTSTOP Charity, South Worcestershire.
